Can you turn it on if the power goes out? Many newer fireplaces have a battery pack under the bottom grill, allowing you to switch it on without electricity. Since Houston is shutting down around 5, head out now to grab those AA batteries and keep your home warm. Don’t get caught in the cold—be prepared!

🎄 A Fun Freeze Hack I Had to Share! 🎄
I just found out about this little trick, and it’s too good not to share!
✨ Here’s what you do: Wrap some old-school incandescent Christmas lights around your plants and then cover them with a cloth or blanket during a freeze. The lights give off just enough warmth to help keep your plants safe from frost.
I’m definitely trying this out—keeping my plants warm AND adding a little festive charm to the garden? Yes, please! 🌟
